So, I am off to Chicago again for the 10th Annual Fashion Show with Live Out Loud Charity. I was there around this time last year too, where I got to accompany producer and founder, Sherrie Gearheart, on a driving trip from Chicago to Indianapolis. During this trip, we spoke about many things, but what struck me most was her ability to manage so much. I was also grateful to see her work in action when she took a phone call to assist someone in a suicide intervention, which is some of what the Live Out Loud Charity is all about.
I am looking forward to this show. It will be the biggest show I’ve done yet, held in the prestigious Palmer House Hotel. There will be 25 designers, an 87-foot long runway and 1,000 people in the audience.
I’ve been making some new designs for the show in cool wintery colours. I’ve been going to the studio early in the morning while it’s still dark. I still love every minute of this job, from the quiet months at home sewing, to seeing my high fashion streetwear designs being so well received on the catwalk, whilst homegrown Irish music pumps out in the background.
Here is a video of my New York Fashion Week Show with the same producers, in case you haven’t seen it yet.
