High Fashion Streetwear Designer

Being a high fashion streetwear designer is a huge and welcome surprise for me! I started two years ago and it immediately took off, full power! My years in street art influence the clothing – I make designs that I would love to wear myself and I know I’d be comfortable in. I want people to feel super cool and special in this clothing – something you can smile at every time you see it.

Artist

I was always an artist. From a young age I would always draw. It was a way to make sense of what was going on inside my head. I walked the journey that most artists have, over many years – practicing, perfecting, believing. Now I fully believe in my art and I’m confident in it and I love it! I love making it. I love every bit of the process. I can see that it also makes others happy and that makes me even happier!

My art style is contemporary with a historical twist. It’s a fusion of street art, the graphic design I studied in college and the adventure I find in everyday life. It’s childlike and colourful and deep and meaningful, all at once. I like watching people staring at my pictures and telling me afterwards what happened for them. I hope each one is like a journey.

Street Art

I was lucky enough to land down in Dublin City in the years when painting in the streets was becoming a bit of a thing. We got to be part of many cool places like Headspace, White Lady Art Gallery, Subground 43 and Applerock Studios which were all host to something really special. A lot of my friends are painters. I like painting on huge surfaces as it makes me feel free. It’s like dancing with paint in your hand.

Music

I started rapping because I love it as an artform and I have stuff to say. I think the rappers of today are the bards and poets of yesterday. I like interacting with people through music, whether that’s singers, rappers, producers, beat makers, whatever. It’s like communication on a whole new level.

My musical style probably falls between Irish rap and spoken word. I don’t sing much yet as I haven’t got around to those singing lessons but it’s something I’m working on!

What can I say about Emily, probably the most amazing girl that I’ve ever met. She’s talented beyond words and so motivated that there is no such word as “no” in her world. And she has a heart of gold. I show off my Emily Nayhree Dawson painting to everyone that comes in my house.

Emily Nayhree is a unique raw talent and true innovator. She is a multi-talented artist across disciplines including street art, painting, drawing, collage, design, fashion and music. I have had the lucky opportunity to cross paths with her on various projects. Each time the experience was not only fun but highly creative and rewarding. What’s more, all of her endeavours are driven by heart and 100% dedication. She is a truly inspiring individual with endless talent. I highly recommend working with Emily. She is one of the best in Ireland on the creative scene. She will no doubt continue her ascent in her career and delight us all with her very personal, soulful, creative output.

I highly recommend this young artist. I’ve been investing in her paintings for many years now and whilst I haven’t quite got round to her clothes yet, she works really hard and she’s not afraid to give give up her time to help other young artists. I love her cause she’s always on the streets of Dublin painting away – a true Dub! The very best of luck Emily.

Emily is one of my oldest friends and her talent and passion has grown from strength to strength. I’m privileged to own some Emily Nayhree Dawson originals, along with some of her beautiful art prints. Emily deserves every success and l look forward to seeing what the future holds for her.

Paula Roche

Emily is amazing and she has many talents. She is a fabulous artist, creative designer, a deadly singer, rapper and songwriter. She is an all-round talent, loving, kind, generous person. She can put her hand to anything and will work very hard to finish anything she puts her mind to. If you know Emily you are very lucky because of all the love she shows you with her big heart. I’m also very proud to be a part of her life – we all are. Love Love Love!

What is that little sparkle in the air? I follow it to the corner of the room. Here I see art, hanging on hangers, and something just moved! As if made of the artwork herself, Emily says a quiet hello. She glows with a beautiful light of strength and magic around her, but I sense the beauty of sorrow as well. Emily possesses meekness and talent so great it is an extension of her soul.
Thank you Emily for giving me the honour of walking in your art world, surrounded by the beautiful person you are, your creative music and unique clothing. Emily inspires everyone to believe in themselves and each other.
